Global Digital Engineering and AI Adoption
At Mark Anthony Group, I led a global organization of 60 professionals across the United States, Canada, Europe, and India. The organization developed and operated more than 70 marketing and eCommerce properties supporting global consumer brands.
My leadership encompassed digital platforms, delivery, AI-assisted engineering, quality automation, security improvement, observability, operational reliability, staffing, vendors, budgets, and enterprise governance.
The organization sustained 99.99% uptime while producing measurable improvements in QA productivity, automated coverage, production quality, and security posture. I also established a Quality Assurance Center of Excellence and reinforced a “you build it, you run it” engineering culture.
Customer Platforms at Enterprise Scale
At Wolters Kluwer, I led engineering and operations for customer-support technologies serving approximately half a million tax professionals and enabling 1,000 support employees.
The platform increased customer self-service by 800%, generated multimillion-dollar annual savings, increased traffic by 300%, and achieved availability of 99.999%.
I led 150 product releases, accelerated time to market by 50%, reduced technical debt by 90%, introduced conversational AI, directed cloud migration, established DevSecOps practices, and strengthened disaster-recovery readiness with a 10-minute recovery-time objective and near-zero recovery-point objective.
CTO and Enterprise Architecture Leadership
As CTO of Atlas Software Technologies, I directed a 30-person engineering organization and guided architecture, software quality, performance, and modernization across multimillion-dollar Java platforms.
As Director of Enterprise Architecture at Sears, I led business, application, integration, and technical architects; advised executive leadership; established enterprise integration capabilities; and secured an $8 million architecture budget.
The resulting integration environment supported as many as one million transactions per day and a 3,500% seasonal increase in traffic.
Building and Leading PROTEPO
As CTO and Managing Director of PROTEPO, I built a technology consulting business specializing in enterprise integration, SAP, webMethods, and Java.
I led company operations, business development, technology strategy, consulting delivery, vendor partnerships, contracts, staffing, and financial performance. PROTEPO grew from a startup into a company valued at $5 million with a 28% EBITDA margin.
The work included directing multimillion-dollar integration programs, advising client executives, achieving SAP certification for a partner product, and becoming the only U.S. vendor selected to beta-test SAP Business Connector 4.8.
Technical Foundation
My executive perspective rests on a substantial technical foundation in software development, distributed systems, Java, SAP, enterprise integration, application servers, web services, messaging, metadata, search, scalability, reliability, and systems architecture.
At webMethods, I contributed to product architecture and implementation across integration servers, SAP adapters, web services, messaging, XML infrastructure, embedded application servers, and enterprise middleware.
That depth continues to influence how I evaluate platforms, architecture, engineering organizations, and emerging AI technologies.
